If they did, their search engine would no longer be used by thousands of people online due to spamming. Keep in mind that you don't want to just get listed in Google, you want to be listed on the first page. How many people do you think visit page 2,3 & 4, not many.

The first step to getting listed in Google is to give relevant content on your website. Google want to deliver relevant useful content for their search users, your goal is to help them deliver and they will reward you by listing your website in their database.

You want to update this content on your website quite often, Google has what they call "spiders". The job of these spiders is to go out and search all the pages online to see which pages have relevant freshly updated content for users. If the spiders see that you update your content regularly, they will start to think you are "important" and begin to push you to the top of the search results. I would suggest a portion of your website that has regular updates, maybe an article section or a blog that's attached to your site. This will also help with visitors staying on your site longer and coming back frequently.

Once you begin to implement these strategies, your website will slowly rise to the top of the search engines. You have to keep in mind that it takes time so you would need to be patient while this begins to happen.
