This is a problem we face since the so called Duplicate Content Theory. Article submission to hundreds of websites is no longer effective and also dangerously bad. Is that correct?
When you submit your article to a 100 directories, search engines than find 100 links to your site (in a day) all with same anchor text. They consider this as spam.
But, most often article directories do not approve your articles instantly, some take a day, others a week so you won't get too many links at once. So you can still use a software to submit your articles, and the more you submit the more backlinks you get. That's the great thing. There are no bad side effects by doing this.
Secondly, you should change the anchor text often. Put a keyword in the anchor text.
Here's the best method to get one way links using articles:
1) Create an article.
Then post the article on your blog or website. Your website needs new content create a new page for each article. Then put a link to each of your articles on a page which you may call Articles. Do not link to each of your article pages from your homepage, keep everything well organized both for search engines and your visitors.
2) Wait until the search engines index the page with your article, that way the article is now yours. Search engines now know that you are the owner of the article. To get the page indexed fast you can link to it from the sitemap or from the homepage until it gets indexed, then remove the link.
If your website is brand new, skip this step and do not wait until the article gets indexed before submitting it to article directories.
3) Now you can submit your article to major directories.
Finally contact webmasters that are publishing articles on their website and ask them for a link exchange. This may be the most difficult part, that is why I skip it or work less on it.
You can though use some services or forums where you can swap articles with other webmasters. That is much easier.
4) Check to see if others are using your article on their website without using your bio information. :) This may be a good idea to do, because you can contact them and let them know and at the same time suggest to them your other articles.
Do not worry if people put your articles on their websites without linking to your site. It does happen to all of us, and you waste time struggling with these things. However it's good idea to contact some who posted your articles, and tell them you have more.
Tell them they can also put your other articles on their site. Or better yet, tell them you wish to become an author for their blog or website, so you can post whenever you want.
And you always get a link back to your website from each article. And remember when you post articles in directories add something like this at the end of the article:

That's how article marketing helps you to get one way links. Remember, many theories spread like wildfire, but not all of them are genuine.

When your writing an article, you have to be dedicated to writing that article. You cannot have any distractions. The more distractions you have, the worst your article will turn out to be. Even if you just have relaxing music in the background, your writing style will become diluted and tasteless.
You want your article to scream out that you made it. You have to concentrate on your article. But don't concentrate too hard. Just hard enough that you can write nonstop without stopping because of a distraction. Remember, the best way to dominate the market is to flood the market as fast and as much as you can. You can't succeed in flooding the market if you keep stopping to sing along to a song or watch a video. These distractions will murder your article marketing.
Just keep writing. Don't worry if you get bored. Just keep doing it. The more you keep writing, the more you'll get over the wall of being bored. Soon you'll have written so much that it won't be a chore anymore. You'll be able to write 20 articles in less than 2 hours and it won't even be a problem because your just so used to it. Just keep writing. Don't stop.Your consistent writing will be your advantage and key to your article marketing success.
Many article marketers stop writing after their first ten because they don't have enough will power. Just keep writing, and soon you will surpass them and create a fortune off of article marketing. You just have to concentrate and write without distractions.

In 2007, I started to do SEO article writing.
Even though I've been freelancing since 1993, this is a very new form of writing for me. To date, most of my clients had been small business owners who commission newsletters, brochure copy, articles for their websites, etc. I have some corporate clients who outsource their editing/rewriting work to me, eg, editing annual reports.
I decided to give SEO writing a try for four reasons:
i) I was bored with my existing workload;
ii) I'd read a lot about SEO writing and knew that it was going to be lucrative long-term;
iii) there's not a lot of competition in the field (not for good, quality writers anyway); and
iv) it's quick turnaround (in pay and assignments).
As an aside, it fits my rather schizophrenic writing personality too in that I may write five articles in one day on extremely different topics - from wedding accessories to mortgages. As my brain likes to flit from project to project, this works great for me.
How to Break into a New Freelance Writing Niche Quickly & Profitably!
As this was a completely different field for me, I had to start marketing from scratch. Following is how I went from 0 to making $250/day in about three week's time.
Marketing for New Clients? Here's a 3-Step Plan that Works Every Time
1) Website: I took about a week to build a website specifically for this type of writing.
2) Research: I compiled a list of SEO companies I wanted to contact for work.
3) Contact: I contacted them - one at a time, using the names of appropriate contacts where possible and at minimum mentioning the company in the email when no specific name could be found.
Marketing Success by the Numbers: What makes this plan work every time is that you make contact every day with a certain number of firms. In my case, I decided to contact - at minimum - 20 companies a day.
On the very first day of marketing, I received two inquiries from companies wanting to use me for pending projects starting the next month.
About three days later, I received another inquiry from a potential client who wanted to package my services with a presentation he was giving to secure a client. And, in the second week, I landed a client who gave me 4 writing projects in three days.
This client is a large SEO marketing firm and wants to put me on their permanent staff of writers (we'll see how this pans out).
While nothing beyond the current 14 writing assignments has panned out, the point I'm trying to get across is that if you make enough contacts, you will get work - especially in the SEO sector.
The best part of being an SEO content writer? You can start with no experience, no samples and no website.
Good luck if you decide to give this type of writing a try.

I have no doubts that I am going to get a lot of slack for this article, but that's okay. I live in Jersey and I'm used to the heat. What I am about to share, as an opinion, is going to be met with many growls and snarls. If you want to know why, you'll understand as soon as you're finished reading. I make no apologies for my views on this subject.
Promoting an affiliate product means promoting a product that isn't yours. Somebody else created it. Now, think about this for a second. You're telling other people to go buy this product that you didn't create. You're essentially recommending it to these people. What do you base this on? If your answer is, "Because I got the product myself" then give yourself a cookie and a gold star. THAT is the correct answer.
I can hear all the affiliate marketers out there screaming at me right now. "Oh come on Steve, I can't possibly buy every product out there that I want to sell. I'll go broke."
Will you? Think about how stupid that statement really is. If you buy a product for $97 and you get 60% commission on it, all you have to do is sell two copies to make a profit. Are you telling me that you can't sell two copies of something that you have used, think is great, and rave about to others? If that's the case, then maybe you should be in another line of work.
The truth is, the most effective way to sell any product online is from the perspective of the buyer. Think about when you go and see a movie and you tell your best friend that you just saw this really great movie. How many times have you done that and your friend went to see the movie? Well, why not do the same thing and actually get paid for it?
However, if you're dead set against buying the product, try this. It does work. Contact the creator of the product and ask them if they would send you a copy to review because you want to promote the product for them. Many merchants will be happy to give you an advance copy if they know they can get a few sales. Ultimately, the same goal is accomplished...you have the product, know what it's about and can write about it intelligently.
All my affiliate marketing is done this way, which is why I am one of the top 20 affiliates for many of the products that I sell.
Nothing beats the personal approach.
To YOUR Success,
Steven Wagenheim

Article marketing is my favorite form of lead generation, and I imagine it will stay that way for some time to come. The biggest thing with article marketing, and one of the reasons I think the market is so wide open, is that article marketing doesnt produce massive numbers of leads and thats what so many people are looking for.
We get bombarded with ads for leads for cheap, or leads 1000 at a time but we should all know by now that they are very poor quality leads. But with article marketing, the leads are a much higher quality lead. They are, in my testing, as much as 10 times more responsive than search engine generated leads and that is huge.
People have been trying for years to outsmart the search engines and they really dont need to they just need to write articles.
Anyhow, that is the way I feel about it.
So why are article marketing leads so productive? I think that one of the reasons is that article marketing prescreens the leads before they get to you the person reading the article has the option of just clicking out, you dont get charged for the click, like with ppc.
I think also that there is a psychological impact of reading your article, then reading your squeeze page by the time they get a few emails from you, they have really developed a bond with you and I think that that is real important.

Sean Mize is a full time internet marketer who has written over 900 articles in print and 9 published ebooks.
Michael Cheney has recently launched a new series of instructional videos. He claims that anyone can start receiving traffic to their websites within 24 hours, or so using web 2.0 techniques.
On first impressions, I found that the back office of video tutorials was well organized and not overpowering despite the vast amount of resources available. Michael is knowledgeable in his field and is a great trainer. He does not over labor on any point and makes absorbing the material effortless.
Here are some of my reasons why a novice on the internet or even a knowledgeable marketer should consider purchasing Michael Cheney's course.
1.Easy To Follow Videos.
The video links are not too long. This is important as some tutorials go on too long and the audience loses interest or become confused with too many instructions.
2.Video Cheat Sheet.
Upon conclusion of a video or lesson, the page redirects to a printable work sheet. Michael includes all the major points covered on the cheat sheet for the user to have as a reference or reminder of the lesson.
3.Up To Date Material.
This is not an old worn out guru telling you about SEO. Michael covers all aspects of current marketing trends from linking, to social book marking, to affiliate programs, to press releases and article writing and more
4.View the Mosaic From Afar.
With snippets of information currently available on the internet, it is sometimes difficult to view the entire marketing quilt looking at one patch at a time. Michael conjures up a vision of the entire quilt, so the pieces fit in place. The viewer will understand just how all the different traffic systems work together and which ones to use for maximum benefit.
5.Inexpensive.
Most programs of this caliber would cost at least double if not more on the market place. Michael's videos are not only valuable but I feel have set a new precedence as far as value for money and what to expect from a publisher.
6.Bonus reports.
The owner of the program will receive a valuable bonus of extra videos and audio training about one week after purchasing the package. I do not want to spill the beans here, but the bonus alone consisting of a further 10 videos, 10 audios plus a report. This is another example how Michael Cheney has over delivered on his product.
In comparison to the cost of many programs available on the internet, not only does Michael Cheney over delivers on his product but the program is very competitively priced. Michael has set a new standard for all marketers and their future releases. And in case you were wondering, I put into action not even half of the methods and I received free traffic in less than 48 hours.

I am a person who is interested in all aspects of search engine optimisation, web promotion and web marketing. I have to admit that I am a bit of a geek as I love to read through the seo forums. I learn quite a lot from these forums however am also, at times, left feeling a little bemused. I can never quite get my head around the amount of people that criticise article marketing. In this article, I am going to be sticking up for writing articles as a form of website promotion by explaining why I believe article marketing works.
The days of buying links to get you to the top of the search engine rankings has gone. Excessive reciprocal linking has also been banished to the wayside. The importance of obtaining one-way links, links that are not paid for, has never been so apparent.
Writing an article and submitting it to a couple of article directories costs nothing. The article should be around three to find hundred words in length, it should be original and of use to any reader.
I am fully aware that the main links that people gain via article marketing are quite poor, however if you stick with it for long enough, you are bound to obtain a few decent ones as well.
I have been writing and submitting about five articles per week for the last three years now and the results have been quite outstanding.
I am going to continue on this trend and would advise other people to start writing articles as a free and easy way to rise up the rankings. It is quite simple, the more articles you write, the more products you will sell. Good luck and I hope article marketing proves as beneficial to you as it has for me.
