Marketing Strategies - Which Do You Use?

Effective marketing strategies are an extremely important aspect of your online business. Would you like to increase your profits? There are countless strategies for marketing your business successfully. Keep reading for some great tips and ideas that can be used by seasoned marketers or complete newbies!

One of the most important marketing strategies you can use for your business is article marketing. People differ on their views, but I find writing articles to be the most effective method of promoting my business. Write one article, submit it to several article sites, and soon you could easily have hundreds of links to your product or service! And it doesn't cost a dime - even better.

A great way to generate tons of traffic is by using viral marketing. This is another one of my favorite marketing strategies. You can accomplish this by creating special reports and ebooks and inserting your links to other related and complimentary products. Give your report or ebook away and you can easily have thousands of people, your FREE ebook in hand, filled with all of the links to your money making products. Allow people to give your free ebook away or sell it, and it spreads even more. This is viral! Another one of the great marketing strategies you should really put into place.

Posting in forums is a very good way to market your business as well. Visit topic related forums, read other members posts and respond when your answer will benefit other readers. Don't spam the forums by posting your ads and leaving. Other members are much more likely to click on your signature links if you show that you are helpful and knowledgeable. They will also gain trust in you, and come to see you as an expert in your field. Forums are another one of the great marketing strategies you should be using.

As I mentioned earlier, there are simply endless methods that can be used to market and promote your business successfully, and most are free! Be creative and you can come up with many of your own unique marketing strategies.

Many useful marketing strategies are free! Find strategies you've never seen before in my free special report, The FREE Factor.

Article marketing cannot be more popular these days as billions of webmasters from across the globe are using it as their primary marketing arm. They prefer the writing and distribution of articles online over other marketing tools because it is proven to augment their page views and strengthen their online presence. These can lead to improved sales and bigger profits.

Here are the 4 incredible steps to make money with article marketing:

1. Make your articles focused on your central topic. By this, I mean avoiding introducing ideas or concepts that are totally irrelevant to your topic to avoid confusing your readers. You can easily do this by creating an outline even before you start writing. List down all the information that you would like to include in your content and stick to them. This can lead to a well-guided writing and highly focused content.

2. Distribute your articles. Most marketers are taking advantage of article submission sites when they publish their articles online. If you want better exposure, you can also post your articles to other avenues like blogs, forums, social bookmarking sites, and on your website. You can also offer your articles for free to other webmasters in exchange of inbound links for your website.

3. Solicit feedback. The best way to improve your article marketing strategies is to solicit feedback from your readers or other expert article writers. These people can help you identify the areas of opportunities that you can improve on to maximize the benefits that you are getting from this marketing tool.

4. Bank on your resource box. Too many times, people are not clicking on your resource box because they don't have a single reason to do so. To increase your conversation rate, I highly recommend that you make your resource box attractive and compelling. Communicate the information that they can find on your website or offer incentives to your visitors.

I heard, before I joined an Internet Marketing system, to build your list first. I was anxious and foolish. I didn't listen. First, I didn't have anything to offer a list to start with. And second, I didn't understand the importance of having a list. I spent about $2,000 to join an opportunity which I believed in. I figured I could make a few sales a month and my business would prosper. Boy was I deceived! After spending another $800-1,000 in advertising without making a sale, I was pretty discouraged. I was bouncing checks and paying bills late for months waiting for a break through that never came.

I absorbed myself in Internet Marketing though. I probably spent 60-80 hours a week, for about 10 months, studying on line and listening to audios about Internet Marketing to and from work. I've been on 300-500 different Internet marketers list. I probably have over 500 ebooks on Internet marketing. All given to me for free to be a subscriber to an Internet marketers list. If I wasn't receiving 30-60 sales letters a day from being on those list, I might have had time to read one or two of those books by now. They have come in handy though. When something does stump me, I do have all of those resources and I have learned from them.

It was through being on on those list that equipped me to be able to build my own list. When you've been on that many list you know which ones could grow quickly and which ones won't. 90% offer the same products, whether for free or for sale. So, even as a newbie, you can start your own list. You don't need unique products, you just need to set yourself apart from the 90% group! In fact, even the 10% group sells a lot of the same products.

So, what's the difference? Patience, and the willingness to want to train new Internet marketers the ropes. The patient list builder will develop a relationship with you and give you free relevant content before they try to make a sale to you. The majority of them give you a free ebook, which they got for free anyway, along with a sales page ($49 price goes up $20 at midnight!) and then they fill your email box day after day with more sales letters until you unsubscribe. I do have patience though. I'll usually give them the benefit of doubt and give them a couple of weeks before I unsubscribe.

I'm a faithful subscriber to about 5 or 6 Internet marketers. Because they have patience, they teach me a lot, they even offer free audio and video training. Now, when they are all out there promoting the same things, are you going to buy that $49 product from some one that gave you an ebook that they got for free, or are you going to buy that product from one of the guys that has invested in you? Because when one these guys send me a sales letter, I'll look it over. They have invested time and training into me, and I owe them at least that. Even if the time isn't right for me, if the opportunity interest me, I'll save it and look it over again in the future.

The problem is is you can join one of the Internet Marketing opportunities out there and spend thousands of dollars with out making any sales. There's a lot of competition out there selling the same products or a different one. The odds are, by the time a person clicks on your ad they have already seen it 5 times in the last hour. You still have to pay $1 or so for each click. It gets very expensive and discouraging when they click and leave. I'm suggesting that instead of investing thousands of dollars, be patient first off, and secondly build a list of people who are interested in Internet Marketing by training them list building. You can produce a great income doing this without sending out a sales page every day. Then when you are lucrative, find an opportunity that you believe in, and offer that to the list you built that you already have a relationship with and sales should follow!

For a Local company one of the biggest aspects of SEO is getting people in your community to link to you. Almost everyone has an online page of some sort whether it is through MySpace or an actual website. Your friends want you to succeed and so will often be willing to place a link to your site somewhere in their page, along with some words about what you do. This last point the text being about what you do is important because the incoming links help more if they are surrounded by information that relates to your website. Without this information the relevance of the links goes down.

One thing that sets Washington apart is how wired it is, there are many more people online here then any other part of the country, what's more it is the most literate part of the United States as well. For these reasons various forms of online PR and article marketing are likely to do very well for getting people in the local community to link to your site, especially if you have something on your site of interest to link to. Having something to link to is important, almost everyone has a website but very few people have enough incoming links to get a good position. In order to get a good position it is important that you create unique content, content that will make people who see your site want to link to you. In a small community it may be more important to get local sites to link to you, as these will allow you to look more important to the search engines local based searches.

Having content on your website that is worth linking to may be easier then you think (depending on what you do). Small businesses owners like you have a wealth of knowledge that people are often looking for. The use of tools in hardware, paint color schemes that are popular, clothing styles that are unique, information on books and authors. All of these things are pieces of information that you as a small business owner can have special access to, and so can place on your website.

For a restaurant it may be even easier to provide something worth linking to in the form of recipes. People love recipes and so by providing some you stand a good chance of gaining incoming links.

Another way to get incoming links is to join the organizations in your local community; your chamber of commerce for example could provide a good link to your site. A school in your area could also provide a link to your website if you made a donation related to your business or where on something which they organized. By the same little leagues and other such entities will often link to donors, so you can ask about this. In all cases remember that it is best to get these links in such a way that discusses your business.

Remember also as you go out to get these links however that you don't want to do it too fast. It is advisable not to get more then 2 or 3 links a week and maybe even less, because Google will punish you if you get more. In a local community this is also easier to control because you can ask people to wait to link to you if necessary.

Article Marketing Checklist

Article marketing is an easy, powerful and effective way to market your business.

Here's a checklist you can use for every article you write.

1. Know your goal for each article

What's your goal for your article? Your goal may be to provide links and traffic to your Web site, or to promote a product or your services.

Write your goal down. When you're writing, it's very easy to forget what your goal was.

2. What's your reader's takeaway?

Each article needs to have a takeaway - a benefit - for your reader. This enhances your credibility, and makes it more likely that the reader will visit your site via the links in your resource box to see what else you have to offer.

Write down your takeaway.

3. Develop your keywords so your readers will find you

Research the most appropriate keywords for your article. Collect five to 10. You'll emphasize two to three in the article, the others will be added to article's Web page meta tags.

4. Develop an intriguing title that's relevant and includes a promise

Think of your article's title as a headline. It's the most important part of your article, because it attracts attention, and it should include the promise of a benefit to the reader.

Make sure the title is relevant to your article, and includes your most important keyword.

5. Write the article, delivering on your promise

When you're writing your article, ensure that you deliver on the promise you made in the title. Unless you deliver, your reader will have no incentive to click through to your site - he no longer trusts you, because you don't keep your promises.

6. Write the resource box for the article

Your "resource box" has a single goal - to get the reader to click through to your landing page for the article. Make another promise of a benefit if the reader clicks.

7. Post the article on your site

Add the article to your Web site as site content, adding links to products and services relevant to the article.

8. Post the article to an article directory

Should you post your article to several article directories for promotion and traffic, or just one?

Some article marketers believe that you should post your articles to many directories. However, I prefer to post to a single directory. It saves time and I haven't noticed any benefits from posting to many directories. Your mileage may be different.

So there you have it - your article marketing checklist. It will increase the speed at which you can write effective articles by giving you a method to follow.

Even though generating incoming links is most important in achieving high search engine rankings, making sure that your website or blog is properly optimized will ensure that you get the rankings that you are after.

For example, if you have tons of incoming links hyperlinked for the keywords "teen diet" but the phrase "teen diet" can't be found anywhere on your website, you've probably wasted your time, because your website most likely won't rank well for that targeted phrase. On-page and Off-page (link building) search engine optimization, work only in conjunction with one another.

So developing and executing a planned and coordinated attack is necessary when looking to compete in the search engines. Below, is a simple, on-page, step-by-step, search engine optimization plan that will have Google, Yahoo, and MSN crawling and ranking your website or blog.

1. At the top of your webpage, include the keyword that you are targeting in H1 tags. Your keyword phrase will appear, bolder and larger then the rest of your text.

2. Heading sizes range from H1 to H6. Place the keywords that are most important in H1-H3 tags, keywords that are least important can go in tags H4-H6.

3. Create an introductory paragraph. Be sure to add the most important keywords or keyword phrases here. Be sure that it flows. You don't want it to sound unnatural. Remember, you are writing for human beings too. A real person has to feel comfortable reading your copy, or they won't bother purchasing anything from you.

4. Add more copy and be sure to add some keywords that are relevant to your main phrase and place your main keywords throughout the next couple of paragraph as well.

5. Websites with lots of pages do better in the search engines then those with fewer pages. You don't have to have a 100 page website to be successful, but you should try to start off with at least five pages and then add a couple of pages every week. Once you have created your pages, you will need to link to them from your home page. Make sure that you name your pages with keywords that you can want to ge ranked for. Do a little research and try to choose less competitive keywords or phrases. You will also need to create a sitemap. This is simply a page that lists all of the pages in your website. You should always submit your sitemap to Google, to be sure that they index all of your pages.

6. Now it's time for your concluding paragraph. Be sure to incorporate your keywords in this paragraph as well. Not too much, 1-2 times should be fine.

7. If you have any images, be sure to add keywords in the alt tags. While this is as not as powerful as it once was, it will help some.

8. Add your targeted keyword and keyword phrases to the meta, description and title tags.

That's pretty much it for on-page search engine optimization. Now, you need to focus on off-page optimization. This involves generating links to your website or blog.

When some webmasters say that not all traffic-generating techniques are created equal, they were not lying. While some techniques can help you augment the traffic to your site, there are others that are proven to be more efficient. Among these techniques is article marketing. It's considered one of the best because it provides online users with information, which is the hottest commodity today. Thus, it follows that if you were able to master the ins and outs of article marketing, you have won half the battle in driving traffic to your site to earn more profit.

Here are the 3 comprehensive ways to excel in article marketing:

a. Create a compelling summary. Aside from writing interesting titles, you must also create equally interesting summaries of your articles. These summaries are posted by article submission sites to give your readers an idea on what the articles are all about. Some article submission sites, like ezinearticles.com allow you to create a maximum of 5 sentences for your summary. Make each word count and use each word to entice online users to read your article.

b. Use the same name on all article submission sites. Remember, one of the reasons why you are utilizing article marketing is to establish your expertise on your field. It would help for easy recall if you will use the same name like Kelly Anderson on all article submission sites, instead of using K. Anderson on some sites.

c. Use keywords on your articles. Keep search engine optimization in mind when you are writing your articles. Remember, you must write not only for your potential clients but for search engines as well. Make use of keywords that are relevant to your topic and those that are commonly used by your target audience.

There is always an effective article marketing strategy if you are aiming to use such an activity to boost your business. For quite some time, article marketing has been helpful in making businesses gain more mileage in terms of advertisements and promotions. Now, almost all businesses are using article marketing in bolstering revenue and sales, particularly.

Article marketing is actually a modern kind of advertising wherein the company is offering useful and significant information about the industry where the business is included. A popular and usual article marketing strategy makes such articles available and distributed across the market for free. Consumers enjoy access to such write-ups that are used to elicit information and suggestions.

However, producing and distributing article marketing outputs is not enough. There is one way on how to make the article marketing strategy really functional and result-oriented. That is to make sure the copy has a by-line that indicates the name and contact address of the company, which is aimed at directing prospective clients to the business. The copy should also contain a bio box or a resource box that would outline and introduce basic information about the company and the business. This is an effective article marketing strategy because the usefulness of the data in the article would certainly make the copy significant and useful.

If you are aiming to make your article marketing copy work, you should make sure your output contains the bio box and the by-line. Some writers of such copies also at times go the bounds of mentioning the company and the business directly within the article. Doing so instantly makes the copy an obvious promotional and advertising material. Some companies, however, do not readily use such promotional material as some readers indicate disgust and disagreement over such promotional activities.

Despite that, there are still many companies that keep on using an article marketing copy directly to advertise itself. These firms argue that their sales and revenues keep on rising because of such an act. Thus, analysts and professionals readily assert that one way or another, direct article marketing is also as effective as its original and more discreet form.

If you own a business and you are aiming to use article marketing as a means for advertisement, you should strive to get to your target readers and consumers. Always remember using the discussed article marketing strategy.

If you want to attract more visitors to your site, establish yourself as an expert on your field, generate link popularity, increase your search engine ranking, pre-sell your products, and entice visitors to access your website over and over again, then you need to incorporate article marketing to your traffic-generating strategies. This tool is not only proven efficient but it is also very cost effective.

Here are the 4 hidden secrets to grow your article marketing:

1. Keep your articles short. Online users love reading articles that are brief, concise and direct to the point. Remember, you do not need to write a 750-word article when you can discuss your topic using 250 words. By doing this, you can create more articles that can lead to more back links to your website.

2. Make every word count. Most article directories do not pay attention to the word count of your articles; they are most concern with the quality and content. So, avoid using fillers and fancy words just to make your articles longer. Instead, consider every word that you use and make sure that they have a direct impact on your topic. This will make your articles meatier and worth reading.

3. Use compelling titles. Your headlines should be attention-grabbing. They should communicate what your potential readers will miss should they ski your articles. Keep your titles short, direct to the point, and intriguing.

4. Hire some help. If you want to have more articles to submit to article publishing sites, I recommend that you outsource some of your tasks. You can hire a ghostwriter or someone who can submit the articles for you. By doing this, you get the tasks done half the time, making your more productive.

How To Really Make Money Online

It is a simple concept. Develop a low cost product(such as an e-book), put up a website, get traffic to your site and make LOTS of money on the internet. And thousands of people try to do that every day. Some make some money, some don't. But do you know what the real key of Wealthy Marketers is?

I can tell you in two words: Backend Products! A back-end product is a higher priced product you attempt to sell to your customer after they have purchased a low priced (or introductory) related product from you.

Say someone bought a $37 ebook from a true wealthy marketer, that marketer would then attempt to sell them a product for $200, $ 500 or even $1000(by the way, for some reason, the response is better if the price is $197, $497, or $997. A true wealthy marketer knows that key to success.

That's why cars, appliances, even houses sell for an odd number like that. You don't see a tv commercial for a new car for $25,000. It will be for $24, 997! Notice that next time you watch tv!) If you're not trying to sell back-end products to your customers, you are losing out on the real money! It is far easier to sell to existing customers than it is to sell to new ones who don't know or trust you.

If the first(low priced product such as an ebook) was incredible, and if you provided fast and friendly customer service, usually 20-30% of your customers will order your higher priced back-end products. But only if you offer it to them!

As a matter of fact, this technique is used with direct response tv ads(a direct response ad is where an 800 number is given, and viewers are asked to order from the commercial!) Many of those ads actually LOSE money initially. But the wealthy marketer running those ads knows that he will make up for the loss and profit tremendously with the back end."

A good example is cosmetics or acne products. It may cost more to run the tv commercial than the total amount of money that comes in from the ad. But, in the case of the acne solution, the buyer must continue to use the product, so in this case the "back end" is not a one time order, but a continuous order, say each month, for as long as the customer needs it-maybe 6 months to a year or longer. So, instead ofjust a one time sale of say $19.97 for an acne product, the customer is automatically shipped the product each month for 12 months. The $19.97 sale becomes a $239.64 sale!($19.97 x 12 = $239.64.)

This is called a continuity program and is used often in tv and other media as their "back end." On the internet, a continuity program(such as a membership site with a recurring monthly fee) can also be used by a wealthy marketer as a "back end." But for simplicity, we'll just confine ourselves to higher priced products as our "back end."

I was doing a radio interview a few years back with Terry Dean, an internet "guru" and a true wealthy marketer. (I think Terry actually retired in his early 30's! Proof that his methods worked!) Terry was telling me that he never made any real money on the internet until he started selling higher priced($497-$2997)products. In other words, this wealthy marketer was telling me that his success was all because he was selling back-end products! Wow!

Below are 7 killer strategies you can use to sell your back-end products to your existing customers:

1. When you ship people the first product they bought, insert a flyer or brochure for your back-end product in the package. Or if it is an ebook, have a digital flyer for your back-end product.

2. Give customers a free subscription to a customers only e-zine when they buy your product. You could include an ad for your back-end product in each issue.

3. Mail(yes-snail mail!) your customers greeting cards on holidays or on their birthday. Include a small advertisement inside the card for your back-end product.

4. After ordering your first product from your web site, take them to a "thank you" web page and include a "special offer" for your back-end product ad on that page.

5. Give your customers a free membership into your "customers only" private site. You could include your ad for your back-end product somewhere inside the private site.

6. Contact your customers by phone and ask them if they were happy with their purchase. You then tell them about your back-end product.

7. Send your customers a thank you letter by mail or e-mail. You then mention your back-end product somewhere in the letter.

You can become a wealthy marketer yourself if you apply this secret-offer a back-end product to your customers!

Article marketing can be time consuming and challenging. Many folks, when using this marketing technique, tend to just write articles and post them to the biggest directories and hope for the best. What I would like to suggest today is a little change in strategy.

Generally speaking, when you are writing an article, you are addressing a certain subject. Let's take golf for example. Now let's say you write an article on golf and at the end of your article you have a resource bio box which directs the customer to a golf site. To a certain point, this article may be successful but let me show you where it falls short.

First, when your article is listed on a big directory, it is there amongst thousands of other articles and as a result, it gets buried pretty quickly as there are thousands of articles coming in every day. Second, because your article is on the general subject of golf, it may fail to address a specific need to a specific targeted audience.

Let's say, on the other hand, your article talks about the newest driver on the market and basically goes over the pros and cons so as to help the reader make an informed decision before purchasing - then in your bio box you have links going back to a specific page on that driver where you have listings of customer reviews.

Then let's say you submit this article to a smaller article directory that just covers sports and has various categories under golf which enables you to put your article exactly where you need it to be and those who visit this directory can specifically seek out an article on golf drivers.

Beyond that, there are not thousand of articles coming in everyday covering a general topic and as a consequence, your article holds its position longer. Additionally, publishers who specifically want to publish articles relative to golf drivers will be able to find and publish your article far easier.

I think you would agree that this article will by and far generate more sales and get published on multiple sites faster than if you were just submitting it to the big general directories. You know when it comes to Internet marketing you have to think outside the box. Don't just follow the herd, get more return on your time by being smart.

When it comes to making sales online you need to be specific and submitting to smaller article directories that are more targeted enables you to reach a specific market and as a result you can address their specific needs. Even when it comes to your article title you can be more specific and as a consequence get more people reading your article. In addition you also expand your market share.

To conclude, niche marketing can make you a lot of money online and that is why if you choose to write articles as a marketing technique you need to submit your article to niche directories which will help you to get targeted readers and get a higher return on your investment of time and money.

By doing so, you will not only please the publishers but you will also be able attract more online users to pick your articles and have them republished.

3. Know your target market. This is one of the basic elements that can guide you to create articles that are focused and targeted to your potential clients' needs. Q: How do you motivate yourself to write articles everyday?

A: You know what? That is a really good question. As I think about it, you are really asking two questions -

1. How do I get motivated to write articles everyday?

and

2. How do I stay motivated to write articles everyday?

Fortunately the answers to either question apply to both questions.

How to get and stay motivated to write articles everyday

I have several tips for you which I will share in bullet point form -

  • You need to write regularly to get and stay motivated. Writing regularly keeps you in the flow of article writing and makes article writing much easier.
  • When you are writing regularly, you see article ideas everywhere.
  • Keep a pad and pen with you or a voice recorder to capture your article ideas as they come. One of the most de-motivating things that can happen is to have a great idea, not capture it, and then not remember the idea when you sit down to write about it.
  • Keep in mind at all times the results of regular article writing and marketing. You may even want to write the results down somewhere that you can see everyday. In addition to the pure pleasure of writing, the results are the most motivating factor for me. I don't hope - I don't think - I know that the more articles I write, the more traffic, prospects, subscribers, customers, fun and profits I am going to have.

Keep all of these tips, especially the results, in mind to get and keep you motivated to write your articles.

And with your permission, I'd like to offer you free access to two of my Article Writing Templates that will help you write everyday. You can download them by going to

Spend my valuable time writing articles only to give them away? Why would I want to do that?

If you believe that the articles that you write should only be shown on your site you are missing the whole point of Article Marketing. Article Marketing is the process of writing articles and submitting them to article directories for others to use free of charge. To some that may sound somewhat counter productive. Take it from me it is one of the best ways to increase traffic flow to your website. More traffic equals more profit

Publishing your own articles on your blog, website or in your newsletter is not enough. You need to have your name and website link spread across the web. Article Marketing can and will do that for you.

When you contribute articles to the article directories you will be give a resource box. In this resource box you can inform the reader of who you are, what you do, and where your website can be found. As part of the agreement with the article directories publishers may not remove or alter the resource box.

If you limit your article to being published on your own site the only people who will see your articles are the ones that somehow get to your site. There are literally millions of other sites out there who have visitors and these visitors have no idea who you are. Writing articles and allowing others to use them allows your name and website link to be seen by huge number prospective buyers.

With each article you write more links are created which lead back to your website. When a publisher chooses to include your article on their website, ezine, or newsletter more links are created. More links back to your website can result in higher search engine ranking. With higher ranking comes even more traffic.

Yes you should be writing articles and giving them away left and right. In fact you should be writing them as fast as you possibly can, submitting them to article directories, and being rewarded in more traffic.

Is the Reverse Funnel System a Scam? I'm going to lay out some straight forward information to let you know what the Reverse Funnel System and Ty Coughlin's Inner Circle are all about.

First of all, the Reverse Funnel System is not a scam. You will always be able to find people that have tried to start a home business, but had no idea what they were doing, didn't have any support, and couldn't make it work. If you sign up for this business, or any business without doing the right research first, you are setting yourself up to fail. The Most Important thing you can do before you buy into the Reverse Funnel System is research the Team you want to be a part of, as well as the Sponsor who is signing you up. These people are where you will get the Knowledge that will make or break your success.

Yes, Ty Coughlin is the creator of the system, and the upper reaches of the Inner Circle are extremely knowledgeable and helpful, but they are not the people you are going to be dealing with day to day to get your business off the ground. Your immediate sponsor is who you will be talking to, and working with. You should be calling people to find out who you mesh with and who you want to work with.

For example, I am part of the Global Mentors Team. As one of hundreds who can make that claim, I know that not everyone will be able to work well with me. It depends on your personality, where you come from, your experience level, etc. It may be a better fit for you to work with someone like Jonathan Budd or Tatyana Gann. While I'm very laid back and easy to talk to, you may fit better with someone who is very high-energy, more of a type-A personality. The point is to research the organization and the sponsor you are joining in this business. You can greatly increase your chances of success by doing a good job in your research of the people, not just the company.

The Global Mentors Team provides you with immense marketing and advertising resources as well as a Team Forum and Team Training site where you can get information 24-7on all facets of the business. There are hundreds of people you can join the team under, but you need to decide who you will work the best with to give yourself the best chance at success.

A well-executed website marketing strategy can transform your company in a matter of weeks. If you design a search engine-friendly Web site with quality content and create a link building campaign to like-minded communities, you will see your rankings rise over time and your traffic increase.

Research
However, qualitative research can point out successes that may have occurred on a more human scale through anecdotes about how the social marketing program made a difference in someone's life.

Affiliate marketing can be a great way for you to get started in your home business. Affiliate programs offer webmasters the ability to earn revenue from their website through a commission based structure. A business website without web site marketing is much like going through the process of writing a book and publishing a book, but only printing one book and selling it in one store.

Web site article promotion is, in my opinion, one of the least used traffic building tools around, and yet I think that it holds some of the highest amount of potential online. Web site article promotion has incredible potential for the future, and can stimulate incredible growth right now, today, in your online web site promotion efforts.

Why do so few use article promotion for their web site promotion efforts? I think that one of the biggest reasons is that it is one of the few things left on the internet that cannot be effectively done by a computer, and it is incredibly difficult to quantify exactly what makes one article pull and another not there are just too many factors, including the fickle nature of the online reader.

So how do you effectively use article promotion to put your web site on the internet map?

1) Web site article promotion tip #1: You must write articles that appeal to the buyers of your web site products. Articles are time consuming to write, so you might as well get the maximum punch out of each article you write. Send an email to your customers and find out what they want to learn more about; those topics make great article topics.

2) Web site article promotion tip #2: Submit your articles to about 100 article directories once per month (1-2 articles per month to 100 directories is plenty). Then submit all the rest to the article directories that have pageranks of at least 6.

3) Web site article promotion tip #3: Use the maximum allowable number of backlinks that are permitted by each article directory. Use different urls for each link.

You can post them on your blog, website, social networking sites, forums, and you can even convert them to an ebook which you can use as a viral marketing tool.

3. Resource box. Your resource box serves as a gateway so your readers will be directed to your website. Article marketing has suddenly gained popularity because of various reasons. First, it is one of the easiest traffic-generating techniques that can be practically used by anyone who are running websites or engaged in affiliate marketing. Secondly, it delivers great results in such a short period of time. Among these great results are the following: Increased in targeted web traffic, improved page ranking, wider reader base, and augment in sales potential.

1. Start your article with a good title. This is the first element that will potentially connect you to your readers. Thus, it is very crucial that you use headlines that your potential readers can relate to. Target their emotions or their logical reasoning to pique their curiosity. Or grab their attention by using bold statements or exaggerations.

2. Learn how to hold your readers' interest. Once you grabbed the interest of your readers by using great titles, you must not let it go or your articles will not be entirely read. To keep you readers interested, make your content equally interesting and intriguing. Spill in great information on every part of your content so you can make your readers read the last words on your articles.

3. Connect your readers to your content. Cite example or stories that your readers can relate to. By doing so, your readers will surely feel that you truly understand where they are coming from. This can result to rapport, trust, and good personal relationship with your reader base.

Article marketing offers webmasters numerous benefits: Quality backlinks to their blogs or website, increased traffic, and cost-effective marketing technique that is proven to work. If you want these benefits and more, follow this 7 steps to successful article marketing:

a. Avoid blatant advertising. Refrain from writing articles with the sole purpose of promoting your website and products. Instead offer your readers quality content that is useful, timely, relevant, and interesting.

b. Check your articles for broken links. Usually, articles with broken links are rejected by article submission sites. Thus, it is helpful if you can use the preview feature of each directory to make sure that all links are working before you click that submit button.

c. Bank on your content. Make your articles engaging and interesting. Also, use the articles to show your expertise on your field. This is the fastest way to gain your potential client's trust.

d. Make use of anchor texts. Hyperlink your targeted keywords so it will be easier for your readers to go to your site in just one click on their mouse.

e. Make short articles. Based on studies, short articles are preferred by most online users. Increase the chances of your articles being read by making them as short as possible. 250-500 word article is ideal for most article submission sites.

f. Create intriguing, interesting titles. Titles act as baits to get online users to read your articles, so take advantage of it. Make sure that your titles will capture the interest of your potential clients by establishing the benefits they can get from reading your articles.

g. Sprinkle keywords on your articles. To get your articles indexed by search engines, use keywords that are usually being used by your potential clients when they use search engines. Use these keywords on your title, on the body of your articles, on your anchor text, and on your resource box.

If you write articles to market your web site, then you know how much time you need invest to make it worthwhile. Most site owners use article directories to distribute their articles however this limits the amount of traffic you can receive. If this resource dries up and is no longer effective it will cut into your profits. Therefore don't place all your eggs in one basket by just using one resource.

1. Your own web site or blog

I always add articles to my web site first then wait for the search engines to spider the web page. This ensures the web page containing the article will be ranked first in the search engines so I can capture the most visitors. If you submit your article elsewhere first that site will rank ahead of your own. This means you will miss out on garnering the most traffic.

2. Complimentary web sites

Contact web site owners that have similar content to your own. Offer them your content making sure they include the live links in your resource box so you receive the benefit of an incoming link. You can find some of these sites at ezine directories where site owners have indicated they want to receive articles from others.

3. Ezine directories

If you already send out a regular ezine or newsletter that includes your newly written content, then be sure to also submit it to ezine or newsletter directories.

Here's a list of the top twenty ezine directories:

http://ezines.nettop20.com/

4. Printed version

Visitors to your web site don't often have time to read all your articles but may print them out for reading later. You can offer a printed version by converting it to a PDF file. A PDF file is the most browser friendly file because it will print correctly for any type of computer.

5. Social bookmarketing sites

These sites allow users to search, share, organize, and store bookmarks of different web pages. Below is a list of social book marketing sites you can submit to:

Social book marketing sites that don't use the nofollow tag (a tag which allows them to get spidered)

http://www.searchenginejournal.com/social-bookmarking-sites-which-dont-use-nofollow-bookmarks-and-search-engines/5985/

6. Reports and E-books

Take 10 articles you have written on a specific topic to create a short report. If you have many articles, compile them into an ebook. The report or ebook can be distributed to ebook directories or offered as a free download for subscribing to your ezine. You can also offer them to web site owners in exchange for a link to their web site. If you wish make money from the content within your ebook or report, include links back to your site, affiliate programs or other products.

7. Video and Audio

Not all people like to read content online. Modifying your content by creating a video or audio will help reach a wider audience. For example almost everyone is familiar with YouTube videos. Place the content of your article into a video file then upload it to youtube using your best keywords. When users do a search for those keywords your video may appear. You have now created another traffic resource.

8. RSS Feeds and Directories

RSS stands for "really simple syndication". People use RSS readers or news aggregators to obtain a summary of the articles on your web site or blog. This enables them to quickly discern what ones they wish to read.

Most blogs (ie Word Press) have RSS feeds built in and automatically ping the main RSS directories. If you don't have an RSS feed for your web site create one manually (http://www.isitebuild.com/rss/rss-feed.htm). Submitting your RSS feeds to the main RSS directories is another way to increase the amount of visitors to your site because you created another method to distribute your content.

Top 55 RSS Submission Sites

9. Press Release

Increase your visibility and search engine rankings by sending out a press release about your web site. Make sure it is newsworthy otherwise irt will not be accepted.

Here are 2 free services

PRWeb.com

free-press-release.com

10. Guest Writer

If you have already built a good reputation in your niche you may get asked to write an article for an authority web site, blog or local newspaper column. This will help build lots of valuable links and increase visitors and sales from your web site. You can also search for web sites and blogs related to your area of expertise

and offer to contribute articles as a guest writer.

Conclusion

Don't just focus on article syndication sites as the sole source of content marketing. You worked hard to produce well written, unique content. If you use these top ten strategies to extend the mileage of your articles, you will receive a great boost in web traffic.
