Article Marketing for Non-Writers

There is no doubt that article marketing works. People want information that they can use, and will respond to it much more often than having hype, in the form of an ad, thrust in their faces. But what do you do to capitalize on the article marketingtrend when you are not a skilled writer?

One must hire a person who is a skilled writer. One must hire a writer who is experienced in article marketing, someone who knows the ins and outs of search engine placement through keyword optimized informational content.

Too many people think that if they can put words on paper, or in this instance, on a computer screen, that they can write. This is not the case. It is not enough to have words. Those words must be composed in an intelligent fashion; void of misspelled words, grammatical errors and typos. Attempts to succeed with article marketing using poorly written copy will in fact, do more harm than good. No one looks like an expert in anything when their writing is poor.

When one becomes a trusted information provider, people are more likely to purchase, hire, or network with them. To become a trusted information provider, one must provide quality information, written intelligently. That is the whole purpose of marketing with articles: to establish your credibility as an expert in your field, to provide credible information which helps someone make an educated decision, and to direct them to you for the solution to the need they have.

So, does one have to go bankrupt hiring a qualified writer? You certainly could, but you don't have to. As with anything else, you should shop around. Fees for writing services vary; from as little as $10.00 to $10,000.00, depending on many things. But, just because a writer wears a large price tag, doesn't necessarily mean they are the best; alternately, a writer who charges lower fees is not necessarily a hack.

Additionally, one must find a writer experienced in the type of writing application needed. Just because a person is skilled in a particular genre does not mean they are skilled in every writing genre. You wouldn't have a pediatrician perform open heart surgery. Similarly, you shouldn't hire, say, a screen writer to write marketing copy.

Article marketing works well for the promotion of practically anything, IF it is done well and gets plenty of exposure. Obviously, one must get the article in front of readers in order for it to pay off. The more exposure an article gets the better. And this is why article marketing through the use of syndication is so valuable. Syndication gets that exposure, by placing the article in multiple locations for reading, and search engine indexing. (RSS feeds are indexed more often and more quickly than static web pages.)

If you are not an experienced writer, hire one; use article marketing to generate results.

The Internet is saturated with a lot of websites providing tons of quality articles. In such a situation, you should follow an efficient approach of writing and distributing the articles to divert a good amount of traffic on your website. How does this happen? There are article directories that can select your article as a supplement for publishing on their website or distributing it to their member websites on request.

Benefits of Effective Distribution

The question may arise, in the mind of the readers of this article, "Why give my articles instead of getting any price for it?" The answer could be seen in the form of benefits coming up your way:

  • The expert Ezine publishers don't modify the contents of your article and most importantly, provides a resource box where you will link your website along with your article.

  • The Ezine publishers distribute your articles to its member websites which increases the viewing of your article. Remember, your article is viewed by hundreds more viewers each time a publisher distributes your article. You do not need to do this manually, once you submit your article to the main article directory site the distribution process is effectively carried out.

  • The link popularity is the most important reason you want your article distributed as often as possible. Each time your link is clicked on it which will assist in bringing your website to the top ranking websites. Then when a user searches for quality contents in a search engine, your website will be thrown in the top search results.

There are set of guidelines that should be taken into account while writing and distributing the articles to increase your chances of getting noticed by good publishers:

  • First of all, write interesting articles that are short but informative. Make use of bullets to increase the readability.

  • Use only one or two links in the resource section below each article.

  • Don't add affiliate ads with your article, as publishers like Ezine don't prefer it.

  • Don't burden the articles with HTML codes and use plain text format.

  • Try to look for the subjects that are less explored by other writers.

  • Submit the articles to the websites visited regularly by the good article directory publishers.

  • Lastly, submit only one article to each website.

The ultimate objective for you is to bring a good flow of readers to your website. It is possible by writing and distributing the articles effectively. As fast as you attract the publishers the quicker the distribution rate of your articles will be. Always look for fresh content for your article. You can achieve the aim of getting thousands of views of your articles.

As an Internet Article Marketing writer you should be writing up to 400 articles per year. Taking time to also distribute and promote those articles is not necessary. Submit you articles to one or all of the article directories and let them do the distribution.

Have you ever seen Rocky the film? If you haven't, you must have been living under a rock in the last 30 years! Well, Rocky has a lot to do with Internet marketing.

What? What does a boxer have to do with Internet marketing? Watch the movie again, and see how Rocky overcomes the odds to achieve success. He wasn't in the right place at the right time, wasn't born lucky, nor was he even stronger than most of his opponents. But he overcame all of this through the sheer power of his determination. It was his willpower that allowed to achieve his goals, and his focus that 'forced' him to train like a madman in the run-up to his big fights.

There's a lesson to be learned in this. And that is, if you want to succeed in business and in Internet marketing, you have got to treat it seriously. Nothing done half-baked was ever done well. Are you sabotaging yourself with excuses of a lack of time or money?

Rocky started with very little but literally fought his way to the top. He didn't use 'lack of time' as an excuse. He simply told himself he had to achieve his goals no matter what and nothing was going to stop him. And that is how most successful people get what they want.

Is your 'reason to succeed' big enough? Do you really want to achieve your goals? Or are they just passing thoughts? Most people's goals and dreams are unspecific and mere passing thoughts, which is why they never really do anything about it. They waste their weekends and their free time doing stuff that don't relate to their goals or dreams. They lack the motivation to get started, but the truth is, they can live without achieving their dreams.

Make your goals a 'must do'. Tell yourself you will dedicate the necessary time and resources to achieve them. Be like Rocky and be absolutely focused, and you can achieve all your goals that you set your mind to.

(Continue from Part I) On the internet, content is king. Most contents are informative articles on subject and services that people are looking for. When people have a problem, they don't just go out hand in their credit card to buy a particular product online because of the insecurity and high risk of fraud, people are careful these days.

What they do instead is, they look for vital information by searching online for articles and release that will give them enough information to buy the products that they desire.

When they type their keywords and your article pops up, since your article is discussing their problem, they tend to read what you have written. If they like the information, they check you out through the author resource box to find out more.

Therefore, even though article marketing is boring to write, it is advisable that you learn as much as you can about your home business and products so that you can conveniently write informative and useful articles that people will read and use that to find you online.

Remember that any article posted online will continue to generate website visitors for you every single day for free. So if you are interested for long term traffic, you have to make sure that you implement article marketing in your business.

When youre writing your SEO copy, chances are therell come a time when youll wonder whether you should target the plural of your keyword or the singular.

e.g. Do I target tennis shoe or tennis shoes?

To answer this question, the first thing you need to do is find out what your target visitors are actually searching for. If the vast majority are searching for tennis shoes, then youd target that, and forget about tennis shoe.

However, in the real world, things are rarely so black and white. More often than not, the number of searches for each will be similar, and youll still be left wondering which would be the more effective keyword.

Your next step is to think about why visitors search for one and not the other. It may be that people search for tennis shoe when theyre researching whether to buy a tennis shoe or a running shoe. On the other hand, people may search for tennis shoes when they want to actually buy a pair online. In this case, if you were selling tennis shoes, youd most likely choose tennis shoes as your keyword phrase.

Still no closer to a decision? Maybe you can target both... If the only difference between the singular and the plural is the addition of an s or es on the end, you can simply target the plural. Youll be targeting the singular in the process. e.g. Target tennis shoes and youll be automatically targeting tennis shoe at the same time.

But if your plural is more than the addition of an s or es, never fear. In reality, you can target either and still enjoy a high ranking. Google is smart enough to identify the relationship between plural and singular. It knows that people who search for the plural may still get some value out of sites that target the singular. Its true that - all else being equal - when a user searches for the plural, a site that targets the plural will outrank your site that targets the singular. But you can swing the balance in your favor simply by working harder on the number and quality of your inbound links. e.g. Take, for example, the distinction between "copywriters" and "copywriter". My copywriting website, Divine Write, targets copywriter, but it still outranks most sites that target copywriters. Thats mostly because I have more inbound links.

Then, you need to create product awareness by properly marketing your products over the internet.

Fill it up with valuable information and make it search engine-friendly so you can effectively attract quality traffic to your website.

2. List building. Every person that visits your website is a potential client. That is why, you need to obtain their email addresses the first time that they have paid you a visit so you can establish communication with them. You can do so by convincing your visitors to subscribe to your newsletters. Post your sign-up forms and offer incentives in exchange of successful registrations.

3. Ezine Publishing. Once you have a huge and responsive email marketing list, you can build and nurture a good business relationship with your potential clients by constantly sending them useful and valuable information. When you are able to help your subscribers by imparting your knowledge, they will be most likely to support your paid offerings.

A key to a successful Internet Marketing Strategy is a Sponsored Search Marketing campaign. One primary part of Sponsored Search marketing is the Google AdWords system.

Google AdWords allows users the ability to bid on top placement on the Google website and the Google search network. The Google AdWords system also has access to a content network which allows syndication of their marketing across a variety of websites.

Google AdWords is categorized as Search Engine Marketing when it comes to an Internet Marketing Strategy.

We will dissect the structure of a Google AdWords account to help you plan out the proper strategy when it comes to the search engine marketing aspect of your Internet Marketing Strategy. A Google AdWords Account has the following structure:

Campaign > AdGroup > Keywords & Ad Copy

The campaign level of the Google AdWords account appears immediately after the main account level. A campaign is the level of an AdWords account is where you have the ability to set the geographic targeting, language targeting, time scheduling for both daily and for the time on the clock in 15 minute increments. The campaign level description should correlate with the internal theme of Ad Groups.

Campaign>AdGroup>Keywords & Ad Copy

The Ad Group level of the Google AdWords account appears immediately after the campaign level of the account. The Ad Group is the area where we are able to have 10,000 (ten-thousand) sections to organize your keywords in direct correlation with the Ad Copy you plan on your keywords triggering. Your Ad Group name should have a relevant theme to the keywords found in the Ad Group.

Campaign>AdGroup>Keywords & Ad Copy

The Keywords of the Google AdWords account appear directly below the Ad Group. Keywords are words you would like to target on the search engine. There are three distinct styles to create your keywords and they are broad match, phrase match, and exact match.

Broad match keywords target the words you typed in and any words in combination with them or between the words.

Phrase match is words locked next to each other but keywords are able to attach on to either end of the phrase.

Exact match is the exact keyword you want your Ad Copy to hit for. Your Ad Copy and keywords should have strong relevant correlation.

Campaign>AdGroup>Keywords & Ad Copy

Ad Copy is part of an Ad Group where you need to have strong relevancy and correlation with themes in the keyword set. The Ad Copy you are provided has area for 4 (four) messages: Ad Title, Description Line 1, Description Line 2, and your Display URL.

Your AdCopy should have multiple catches to stand out in the marketplace. Your Ad Title should create interest in your Ad Copy and help the rest of your message standout. One key to think about is what will set you apart from the general marketplace. This may include capitalizing all the words in your title or even placing a call to action with even the just the first word capitalized leading into a message. Your AdCopy will vary if you're selling an item versus selling a service. Some ads may be local oriented if you are in the service business. Also, local oriented ads targeted to a specific geography will need to be separated into their own Campaign.

AdWords Account Structure Summary...

AdWords accounts take a well structured approach for the most optimal results and relevancy programmed in before you begin your bidding. We have been working on creating accounts for over 5 years and continue to learn something new every day. Be sure to manage and measure your account as the market is always changing, one great tracking mechanism is Google Analytics.

Most Search Engine Optimizers understand the importance of the backlinks in order for a website to succeed. Most search engines take into account of the backlinks quality for their ranking algorithm. We will cover the top three search engines (Google, Yahoo and MSN) here and discuss how they treat backlinks from their point of view.

The most popular search engine, Google, places great emphasis on backlinks. In fact, relevant backlinks is all a website needs to achieve a high ranking in Google result page. Google, however, does not shows all the indexed backlinks when user queries with the link: operator. In addition, Google does not update their backlink index as frequent as their search results.

It is believed that multiple backlinks from a same domain does not have the stack effect in Google. For example, links from forum signatures and directories will have minimum weigh in Google's ranking algorithm.

Yahoo, on the other hand, chooses to display all the backlinks to the users. A search with the link: operator often reveals most of a page's backlinks to screen. Although they display most of the backlinks, it does not mean that they value them as much as in Google. Unfortunately, backlinks are not as important as they are in Yahoo than in Google.

Yahoo has introduced a site explorer interface to aid the webmasters in locating the backlinks and other useful information. Yahoo also provides one of the best API for the web masters' usage.

MSN also offers to display all the backlinks to the user with the link: operator query. The backlinks update in MSN also seems to be the most updated among all the three search engines. It may seems that MSN focus a lot on backlinks but this is usually not the case. Backlinks are not as important as keyword domain in MSN's point of view.

In conclusion, Google is the only search engine that put a lot of focus on backlinks in their ranking formula and since they are the most popular search engine, backlinks are important for every website. It is recommended to use Yahoo or MSN to check for backlinks because they show a more complete listing.

Article Marketing 101 + Resources

Article marketing is today, thought by many to be the number one internet marketing technique and is a top choice by most all internet marketing gurus.

And with good reason........ it is so easy to do, cost little to nothing, and can flood your website with tons of FREE traffic. Just one well written article can provide your website with traffic, sometimes for years to come. Just imagine if you were to write and submit one article a day?

Here are the "Nuts & Bolts" of what is involved....

  • Write a few articles every day, (More is always better) around 400 to 600 words in a subject matter that you know about, or themed after a product that you are promoting.
  • Place your name and website in the authors Bio (Resource Box) at the bottom of the article.
  • Do an internet search for "Article Directories" and submit your articles to them free.
That's the skinny of it and basically as tough as it gets.

Now.... When you submit your article/s to the article directories, website owners will go to the article directory and if they like it, copy your article and place it on their website so that they will have fresh content on their website.

This benefits you in two ways.......

  1. Google will reward you by raising your PR (Page Rank) for having many backlinks pointing to your website This means that after some time and as your backlinks increase, your webpage will raise further and further towards the top of the search engine listings. This is known as "Organic Listings" and will provide you with a steady source of free traffic.
  2. All those websites (including the article directories themselves) that have your article will be sending potential customers to your website and giving you a chance to convert them into customers.
If you have no product of your own to sell, no worries, here are two ways you can get great products to sell, with or without owning the product. What.....?

One:

You can go to one of the internet's largest resalable product showcases and fine something in pretty much any category. The site that I use is forsellonline.com/cb. At this web site you can select from thousands of instantly downloadable products and almost all of them come with resell rights. This means that you have the right to resell the product and keep 100% of the money for yourself. Most all of them will also include a professional sales website ready for you to put your Paypal link (Or other Payment link) into and start promoting, (Article Promotion First....) right?

Two:

If you do not have any money to start off with or want to get your feet wet before you invest ANY money, then sign up for a free ClickBank account. ClickBank is a place that will allow you to promote other peoples products and receive a commission for your efforts. This is called "Affiliate Marketing" Do not overlook this technique. There are thousands upon thousands of people making a VERY comfortable living using ONLY affiliate marketing. And I mean money into the millions of dollars per year. You can go to clickbank.com for more information.

One last thing:

One small problem with article marketing is the time that it takes to submit your article/s to all the Article Directories. And there are tons of them. What I do, is use a special software program that semi automatically submits my articles to 160+ article directories. I love it. the fully automatically ones just spam sites and will get you banned.

Saves me a ton of time and I can spend more time doing what counts the most, writing more articles. You can find information about the one that I use and recommend at forsellonline.com in the software section. I just love this site. They have hundreds of marketing products for a lousy 2 bucks each. I think I must have spent over a thousand dollars there so far.

If you are a business owner you will probably be looking for viable ways to increase the traffic to your website and are probably trying to do this through different internet marketing techniques.

Most new business owners may find the concept of internet marketing a little overwhelming however a little time reading and understanding internet marketing can quickly erase these fears.

Internet marketing is not based on luck, it involves a lot of hard work and effort. Although when searching the internet you will find programs that will promise to give you success instantly or in a few days, what you need to realise is that any scam or scheme that says things like that will never amount to anything. The simple fact is if you want to make money on the internet through your business you have to work hard and be patient.

Internet Marketing is a form of advertising. It is done via the internet by various ways including

Affiliate Programs, E-mail advertising, directory submission, linking, writing articles and submitting to article sites etc

Internet marketing is also commonly known as online marketing, it is a way of communicating with the market place to advertise and sell your product.

Although internet marketing has continued to grow and has had a huge impact on internet businesses a lot of people will give up after a shot time if they do not see results. Internet marketing is an important aspect of a business and one you have put the work it will continue to advertise your product for you while you continue with other aspects of your work.

It is important to plan ahead, if you decide to add you website details in the form of directory submission, this task can be long and rather boring but can benefit your site in many ways. Make sure you have a file saved with you website details so you can simply cut and paste it into the relevant places to save time.

Most directory submissions will need the following information:-

Your website URL

Your Name

A description of your website

A resource box (always remember to add a link to your site).

Articles are another excellent way of bringing traffic to you site as well as establishing links to your site. There are many sites on the internet that you can send your article to, most of which do not require a link back which is always an added bonus. This is a great way to talk about your product and once added to your website will add quality content also.

The main thing to remember about Internet marketing is that you only get out what you put in. some of it will take a long time to establish its self but any promotion of your site is of great benefit to you. If you do not have time your self to do this employ someone who will or ask a family member.

Internet marketing is an important part of any online business.

Article marketing is one of the most effective marketing tools that you can use to promote your website and market your products. This tool can help you increase your website traffic and improve your search engine ranking as long as you consistently produce quality articles that are helpful and related to your target niche.

1. Deliver fresh information. If you would like to set yourself apart from the rest, you must give your articles an edge by filling them with information that are either new or are not often discussed. People will find your articles more valuable if you can provide them with data that they cannot find elsewhere.

2. Never advertise on your content. Keep your content free from blatant advertisements and strive to give your readers information that they are looking for. Save your sales pitches for your resource box.

3. Write short articles. People online do not have much time to spare when browsing the internet and they do appreciate reading articles that are straightforward and short. Make your articles run between 300-500 words to increase their chances of being read by online users.

4. Make use of compelling resource box. Strive to increase your conversation rate by making your resource box enticing and powerful. Keep it short, direct to the point, and irresistible. Include your name, the problems you solve or the product you offer, the reasons why online users should check on your website, and your website's URL.

5. Distribute your articles to various posting sites. Pick the ones that are highly visited and have impressive page ranking like ezinearticles and goarticles. Make sure that you submit on a regular basis to strengthen your online presence.

When one talks about marketing tools for a business, it is no doubt that article making is one of the most commendable if not the best commendable one. The powerful capabilities of an article to motivate a prospective client towards considering the buying or the usage of any product that is being marketed or promoted thru articles marketing is just so prevalent. This is the reason why article marketing has always been a useful and functional marketing tool. I have enlisted below some of the secrets most marketers use in their article marketing:

- In every article you make, always create an accurate, concise, and clear writing. Your prospective clients are to be treated as people who do not have the luxury of time to read and digest long and lengthy types of article materials. These people are basically hopping for not one but many and numerous products on the net. As such, they are basically faced by too many articles that they come across. Therefore, if you give them the exact details of your product on a very compacted form, so much the better.

- Always consider how intended recipients may be taking the article when received. This means that when you write any article for marketing reasons, you have to write like a recipient and not as a marketer. In so doing, you will know what your targeted clients expect to see on a marketing portfolio like that of an article.

- Always have your article material checked for possible grammatical errors. The article that you are sending out does not only represent you, as a writer, but most importantly, it represents the company and the product that is being endorsed. Any flaw that targeted clients may notice on the article shall be a point against the product and the company maker.

Link popularity has been written about ad nauseum, but most articles address the subject from a perspective circa 2001. The available information usually focuses on topics such as reciprocal linking or the current price of a PR6 link. But following outdated link building advice is more likely to get your Web site penalized than it is to help you gain top rankings.

Googles increasingly sophisticated algorithm has largely caught on to PageRank brokers and has successfully filtered out the benefits of many bought links, as well as those of reciprocal links. The risk of obtaining these types of links is even greater for a new site, as detection of an unnatural link structure has recently gotten many sites sandboxed to the bottom of the SERPs. For this reason, a link popularity campaign must be conducted carefully and yield relevant, natural links.

The methods described in this article will give your Web site backlinks that fit the following criteria, which are important for keeping a site out of the sandbox:

  1. The link is on a Web page that is hosted on a unique IP address.

  2. The link is on a Web page that itself has a unique, wholly independent set of backlinks.

  3. The link is on a Web page that is at least loosely relevant to your Web sites topic.

  4. The link is created within a week.

Numbers 1-3 are important so that your Web sites new backlinks are independent and natural, and do not trip a filter in the search engine algorithm; number 4 ensures that you can move on to more advanced link building tactics before your competition gets further ahead.

Directories

Directories have always been cited as a basic starting point for a link popularity campaign. Listings in the Open Directory Project and the Yahoo! Directory ensure that a site will be spidered and indexed quickly and also provide a reputable backlink. In the past few years however many general and niche directories have sprung up, most charging a yearly or one-time fee to be listed. Webmasters have questioned the ROI from being listed in these second-tier directories, as most provide little traffic and charge 10-50 USD per listing.

But listings in these directories provide important link popularity benefits for a Web site. A link from a directory fits the four criteria we laid out aboveeach of these directories has a unique set of backlinks and is hosted on a unique IP, the sites URL will be placed on a topical page, and all of the directories review and add new submissions within a week. With directory listings alone, a new Web site can gain a few dozen quality backlinks for under 1000 USD (not counting Yahoo!). Aaron Wall of SEO Book has provided a good list of directories at http://www.seobook.com/archives/000166.shtml.

Press Releases

Press Releases provide an opportunity to announce your Web site, and just as importantly, provide a backlink to your Web site from a relevant page (it had better be relevantafter all, its an article about your Web site!). A press release should be well-written and submitted to multiple newswires. In less than a week, it will be published on its own Web page by each newswire and possibly by the newswires syndication partners as well. The writer should be sure to include a link in the body of the press release in http://www.mysite.com format. Again, these backlinks meet the four criteria we laid out above. Newswires usually charge a fee to publish a press release, although a few offer this service for free. You can view the Open Directory Projects category of press release services at http://dmoz.org/Computers/!Internet/Web_Design_and_Development/Promotion/Press_Release_Services/.

Articles

Another great method for gaining quality backlinks, as well as publicity, is to write and publish a helpful article. The author can write a relevant, informative piece on your Web sites subject, which of course includes a link to your Web site in http://www.mysite.com format. General how-to sites (and often, news sites in your particular niche) accept article submissions and will often reprint a relevant, well-written piece. Its free content for them, and a backlink for youa win-win situation. The author of THIS article swears by this method, and once again notes that it fits all four of our criteria for a timely and quality backlink. Aaron Wall of SEO Book has provided a list of Web sites that accept article submissions at http://www.seobook.com/archives/000099.shtml.

Just Say No

Although it may be tempting, you should stay away from reciprocal linking, except in the rare case where the link is relevant and helpful to your visitors. Likewise, you should avoid renting links from link brokers or networks; the links they sell are usually filtered by Google. These two types of links will have a minimal impact on your search engine rankings anyway and may even get your Web site sandboxed.

Instead, seek quality one-way inbound links by the methods described in this article; if you have exhausted these tactics, or if you have run out of money, you can always beg for links from relevant Web sites. If your site contains quality, original content, you may not even need to beg!

Conclusion

The success of a search engine optimization campaign depends greatly upon link popularity. Getting a Web site listed in directories, distributing press releases and submitting articles for syndication are three ways to gain a slew of legitimate backlinks from unique IPs relatively quickly. This will keep the site out of the sandbox and give any SEO campaign a sound link structure to build upon.

The Aim

The aim of Search Engine Optimization is to enable the search engines to find your site and index it. Whenever your content related keywords are typed in a search engine, your site should reflect in the first page. An optimized website should have proper and meaningful content for the users. To make profits target the dedicated traffic.

Appropriate Keywords And Keyword Phrases

Right keywords and phrases are important for achieving Search Engine Optimization. Keywords help in grouping your site with other similar websites in the directories and search engines. A search engine, after receiving the keywords to be searched, comes up, in a matter of seconds, with a list of websites in relation to the keywords. If you use the right keyword then the chances of your site appearing on top of the list are increased. Hence, there is more probability of users going to your site. There are many tools like Google keyword generator that help you get the right keywords for your website.

Using the right keyword will get traffic to your site but the titles and subtitles used on your page are also of relevance to retain the traffic. Each page should have the primary keyword in the title. The keywords and phrases should lead them to meaningful content. A thorough knowledge of this aspect is imperative for Search Engine Optimization.

'Content Is King'

As the keywords are important for a site to get traffic, content is more important to retain the traffic flow. If you give frivolous content in your articles, then you would not hold anybody's attention. This means that the user will not come back to your site and eventually that have a negative effect on your Search Engine Optimization. A bad omen for webmasters who depend a lot on online business! It is also advisable to keep updating your content to give your site a fresh feel.

You can put up interesting articles that are informative and humorous. This will get it readership and you can link it to your site. You can also put up your blog or join a discussion forum where you can put up a post with a link to your site at the bottom.

To help you on with your Search Engine Optimization, you can consult a white-hat SEO that would give you sound advice. They are professionals that have full knowledge of the different strategies involved in a successful SEO. It makes sense to take their help to increase traffic to your site and subsequently increase your profits.

Article marketing requires a certain type of mind set in order to be successful.

Now some people reading this article have gotten scared already because I used the work marketing. Let me make two clear distinctions that are part of the mind set necessary for successful article marketing.

Distinction One - Selling vs. Marketing

Selling brings up notions of a pushy unethical salesperson trying to get you to buy something that you really do not want. This has nothing to do with article marketing.

Marketing is simply letting other people know what you do. So article marketing is simply letting other people know about your articles. In your resource box, marketing is letting other people know about what you do and where to find more great articles like the one they just read.

Nothing slick here. Creativity is required to discover and create as many ways as possible to let others know about your articles.

Distinction Two - Selling vs. Enrollment

This one is crucial for a prospect-pulling resource box. Selling is often thought of as one time event, a one time transaction between customer and seller.

I'm not interested in one time sales. I'm interested in long time relationships. So in your resource box, you want to approach it with the notion of enrollment. For our purposes, enrollment is inviting the reader into your world in which you have many things to offer them.

An example from one of my resource boxes would be "For more tips and tools on creating a great resource box, you are invited to visit......" and then I give the url.

This is the necessary mind set to have when creating your resource box in article marketing.

From Jeff Herring - The Article Guy

There are a number of ways to maximize your profits and often they have nothing to do with increasing revenue. Case in point, if you are pulling in $1,000 a week in your internet business and spending $1,100 you are losing $100 and if you are pulling in $400 and spending $300 you are making a $100 profit. Sadly, many people look at the person "earning" $1,000 as successful despite the fact that this person is overspending with little result. Such is the case when it comes to online marketing and the traditional banner advertisements and email campaigns of prior years.

Yes, at one time these methods of advertising were successful ways of drawing in a potential buyer. Placing a low cost banner advertisement on a website leads drew great attention to products in the past. Ditto email marketing which essentially took the age old concept of direct mail marketing and made it electronic. Times, however, have changed and these methods of marketing - while still somewhat useful - really can no longer be the strategic basis of a marketing campaign.

With banner advertisements the actual purchases on "click throughs" have diminished. Also, the number of people clicking on banners has diminished as well. Part of the reason for this is that people have become wary of the spyware intrusions that banner ads often bring. For email marketing, it was overexposure that killed the beast. Essentially, people have become tired of receiving absurd amounts of "spam" emails everyday and this has led to greatly tuning out on advertisers who use such campaigns. This is to say nothing of the increased costs of dealing with bulk email marketing providers.

One can simply take a test of their own daily internet activity to prove that these methods no longer work as effectively. People spend more time on social networking sites like Facebook and Myspace and video sharing sites like YouTube than reading through emails or clicking on banner ads. This alone is proof that the internet is moving in a different direction to which there are no signs of turning back. People are searching for content, and it makes far more sense to advertise for little to no cost on these types of sites versus paying thousands for outdated methods.

The landscape of internet marketing has changed greatly from prior years. These days, it would be far more effective to look into search engine optimization, blog advertising et al for ones online marketing needs. Economics simply dictate as such.

Are you currently using article marketing to promote your website and products but can't seem to get the result that you desire? In this article, I will teach you on how you can excel in this marketing technique by just following these 4 remarkable methods:

1. Improve your headlines. If your articles are well-written but doesn't perform well online, check their click through or open rates. If your articles are not being opened at all, this is a strong indication that your titles or headlines are not enticing enough. Learn how to create powerful titles that can move your readers to open and read your articles. Keep them short, direct to the point, and keyword-rich. You must also be able to communicate the benefits that your content can offer through your titles.

2. Improve your content. If however, your articles have amazing click through rates but lack the ability to convert readers to online visitors, there is probably wrong with your content. Make sure that your articles are geared toward helping or educating your potential client so they will consider doing business with you. Your articles must also be well-written, scannable, and easy to understand.

3. Improve your resource box. If you are not improving your sales potential through your article marketing technique, you need to look at your resource box if it has the ability to move your readers to click on your website. Use powerful words and offer your readers' rewards like free ebook to entice them to visit your website. Don't forget to tell them what's in it for them should they follow your website link.

4. Produce more articles. Generate more inbound links for your site by constantly writing and submitting articles to various publishing sites.

If you are looking for ways on how you can obtain increased page ranking, improved targeted traffic, higher sales potential, and increased online revenue without shelling out money, you should give article marketing a try. It's one marketing method that has earned the nods of most webmasters because of its proven traffic-generating power and cost-effectiveness.

Here are the 5 easy methods to excel at article marketing:

1. You must be driven and result-oriented. Success in article marketing doesn't come overnight. You must be driven enough to consistently write numerous articles on a regular basis so you can quickly multiply your inbound links from article submission sites. It is important that you don't give up even if you don't see noticeable results within the first couple of months of writing and submitting your articles to publishing sites.

2. You must be resourceful. You need to know where to get valuable information that can help you create compelling and content-rich articles. This can tremendously help you as you should not write articles based on your ideas and opinions alone. To make your articles believable, they must be fact-based and backed up by credible resources.

3. You must be fair. Avoid personal biases on your articles so they will not sound one-sided. Stick to the facts and avoid interpreting them or overstretching the truth so you won't mislead your readers.

4. You must know how to empathize and it must show on your articles. People need someone who understands where they are coming from and understands the things that they are going through. Learn to empathize through your content and win your readers' trust.

5. You must be meticulous. You must not allow a single error to affect the quality of your articles by proofreading them before posting them online.

Here's the type of marketing article you might write. Try to write a product or service review with every article if at all possible. People love reviews because they don't feel like you are selling anything to them.

Here are 4 mind-blowing tactics to supercharge your article marketing:

1. Let's say you have an affiliate product to sell pet products. Hopefully you have a lead capture page (homepage) setup to capture a customer's email address by offering a free report and free e-course about a topic related to pets. If not just remember to move in that direction over time.

2. Now, let's take things one step further and let's assume you want to write an article that you can submit to several article directories (FREE) to get a rush of traffic to your affiliate products, your own products and or your own website.

3. Here's the type of marketing article you might write. Try to write a product or service review with every article if at all possible. People love reviews because they don't feel like you are selling anything to them. I'm going to use "get rid of flees" as the actual keyword from my research criteria here. The title is a bit too long but I'm using this example to make a point here. Note the power words used in these examples below.

"Discover 5 Safe And Natural Remedies Guaranteed To Get Rid Of Flees In 5 Days Or Less Using Only Five Basic Ingredients Found Right In Your Pantry -- Plus Save Over $500 A Year On Harmful Pesticides".

Here is another example using these tactics...

"Discover An Amazingly Simple Yet Effective Shortcut To Housebreak Your New Puppy In 7 Days or Less...Spending Only 5 Minutes A Day"!

4. Spend 50% of your efforts on the "TITLE" of your marketing article! This is extremely important. If your title isn't full of benefits for it's readers, chances are the article won't even get read... so spend a lot of time on it!

I have dozens of articles from when I first started writing that need to be edited because they have boring titles. I had no idea of what I was doing a few years ago. I was so focused on the keyword aspects of the article titles. This is not wise to do.

You need to find a way to make each and every article title "Grab You By The Arm" as if saying, "Hey Look At Me Now and Read Me Now!"

Right now, I'd like to offer you a condensed, brief crash course on article marketing and writing and quickly demonstrate to you how these little "viral cash generating goldmines" can instantly increase your traffic and sales.

Forget everything you were taught in English class. Writing articles Is "meatball writing". You want to write in your own style and at an 8th grade reader level...

Here are 7 effective tactics for explosive article marketing:

1. Don't try to impress your readers with your sheer intelligence.

2. Don't use big words when you can use much simpler, shorter words that have the same meaning.

3. Don't bore your readers! Add some sizzle and spice.

4. Be unique and show your personality! Don't be afraid to be yourself.

5. Always keep your articles short, sweet, concise... and to the point. Each article should be about 300 to 700 words.

6. When adding articles (as content) to your website, you can make your article as long as you'd like, however when submitting to article directories to promote your affiliate products and or your own sites you want to follow their strict guidelines which usually involve a specific maximum word count and format.

7. Use bulleted points and break up lines of text with transitional effects like this... and this -- or use (parenthesis like this) to make it easier on your reader's eyes.

And always try to keep this vital tips in mind as well when writing...

A well marketing article should consist of short sentences and short paragraphs, bulleted points and sub-headings, each addressing a specific point of topic in your article.

There should be lots of white space within your article body. Most people look at large blocks of text and will go away from your article very quickly. You do not want to lose your reader.

Far too often, Search engine optimization experts spin their wheels obsessing about link building. (I myself included) It's easy to forget that classic on page and site-wide SEO still works.

Recently, this hit home. While working on a page on one of my sites, I accidentally left a link pointing to a page that was irrelevant to the actual anchor text in the link. In other words, the keywords in the anchor text had nothing to do with the actual text of the page. Despite this, Google quickly picked up the page for the target search phrase, replacing the page I intended to optimize for. Despite having at least a dozen good quality, keyword specific external links pointing to the page I intended to optimize, the other page now replaced it in the SERPs because the weight from the 1 internal link trumped all the external links.

This situation reminded me that good SEO starts on-site. In my opinion, you shouldn't even start link building until you:

  1. Build Several Internal Links: Search engines care immensely how webmasters categorize and label their own content. The best way to do this is with one time occurring links within a body of content. In my opinion, 1 relevant contextual link from your own site can be worth more than 10 good external links. In Sugarrae's great link building interview, Andy Hagans recommends having at least 5 internal links to every landing page.
  2. Sculpt Your PageRank Flow: SEO Fast Start has a great explanation of using the no-follow tag to sculpt your PageRank. Basically, the idea is to cap off the flow of PageRank using the no-follow tag to pages that are unimportant from a search point of view. For example, while your Privacy policy page may be important to customers already on the site, it's probably getting little to no action from the SERPs. By capping off PageRank to pages like this, you will increase the relative importance of your product pages and product category pages.
  3. Do On-Page SEO on Your Landing Pages: Title tags, H1 tags, keyword rich content, alt tags, and even Meta tags should be optimized before worrying about external links.

Since many experts think effective link building tactics are going underground, I believe on page and site wide SEO tactics such as these will become increasingly important.

Article marketing is attractive because it doesn't cost any money, it's easy to do, and it brings in traffic to your website immediately. The only downside is that it takes some work to consistently crank out high quality articles. The minute you stop submitting articles to the directories, your traffic begins to dry up.

That's why one of the most important things to learn in article marketing is how to write high quality articles fast. I have developed several different techniques for doing this, depending on the topic at hand. One of the best techniques I use is the "why, what, how, what if", because it works for every article.

First, let's consider why it works. It's a system. Just like you wouldn't build a house without a blueprint, you shouldn't write articles without having a guide to follow. This guide is simple:

1. Why - tell they why they need to know the information you're going to share in your article
2. What - tell them what they need to know and what is the most relevant aspects of the topic
3. How - tell them how to use your information. Give them exercises or a step-by-step action plan they can execute immediately after reading the article
4. What if - give them some hypothetical results they can expect to achieve by following your information

There are two killer reasons which makes the above outline so effective. The first reason is that I stole this outline from a book on learning styles. A Harvard professor found that we have one of four basic learning styles. 31% of people have a "why" learning style.

So if you don't tell someone why they need to know the information you're going to share with them, they can't comprehend it! In other words, they'll never act on it because they won't know why they should.

So not only is it a great way to knock out articles at high speeds, but it also makes sure you hit every learning style along the way.

One last secret - not only is this a great formula for articles, but it's a perfect formula for creating your own information products. And that's where the money is really at.

If you do article marketing, then you should download my report, "How to Write an Article in 7 Minutes". It shows you how to write a high quality 400 word article in 7 minutes or less, including proof reading and research.

It even works on topics you know nothing about! Click here to get it!
