Seth Godin developed Squidoo because he was dissatisfied with the quality of information often provided by search engines. He wanted to create a space (a lens) where internet marketers could provide in-depth information about a topic, program or area of interest.
He set up Squidoo so that internet marketers could create a lens that had a number of modules that brought together information from other sources such as Article Directories, YouTube, Flickr, Amazon.com, EBay and other websites and blogs. He wanted to integrate RSS feeds as well.
Each Squidoo lens represents an in-depth focus or window on a topic. People have created lenses on affiliate programs, products, services, singers, hobbies, sports, personal development, entertainment, parenting, pets and charities. The topic of your lens is only limited by your interest and imagination.
Squidoo lenses are very easy to develop and you can develop a lens (in-depth, focused web page) on any topic. You can have as many lenses as you like. It is a chance to be highly creative, have fun, brand yourself and your expertise and generate traffic to your website or blog.
The growth of Squidoo
Squidoo started in October 2005 and now has over 100,000 lenses and Squidoo.com has a Google ranking of 7. The Alexa ranking of Squidoo is 747 at the time of writing (up 424 places in 3 months).
Leading internet marketers like Joel Comm have recognised the value of Squidoo by creating their own Squidoo lenses to promote their e-books, programs and resources on specific topics such as Google Adsense.
Squidoo has now reached a critical mass and is beginning to grow exponentially as the established lensmasters promote the program and others write books and articles about its benefits. Many people wished they had got in early on YouTube or MySpace. However, the opportunity to get in on the ground of an accelerating trend has come around again with the advent of Squidoo.
The Squidoo Opportunity
Squidoo provides the opportunity to establish yourself as an expert and to create traffic and income to your website or blog. Ironically, Google ranks Squidoo lenses very highly and even more highly than blogs. I have a Squidoo lens that was ranked in the top ten results for my keyword within two weeks.
Google will continue to value Squidoo lenses because they give the community the results they are looking for when they use a search engine. NOW is the time to act and grab your share of the very valuable Squidoo internet real estate.

Anyone trying to earn a full or second income need to learn how to write a killer article that attract visitors to his bio box and literally force him to click on his link. If you write at least seven articles per week (that's only one per day) and follow these tips, success is almost inevitable.
If your article is interesting then other internet marketers may want to add it to their own website and Ezine publishers may publish your article and the great thing about that is that the link to your website that is in your resource box also gets published.
1. Your title is the most important part of your article as far as being seen by visitors and search engines. You need to write a compelling title with your keywords. I you can, be sure that your keyword is in the first two words of your article.
2. Don't give them all you have yet. You want to be mysterious and leave the article not quite complete so your visitors will have questions unanswered, then they will want to click on your link and visit your website so they can find the rest of the information.
3. Make it easy to read. Most people don't want to read long drawn out articles so if you can sum up what you want with bullet points then your readers will find out very quickly if your information is what they are looking for.
4. Briefly tell your readers what they will get or find if they click on the link to visit your website. Put the effort into having a good resource box as this will determine whether your readers will click through to your site.
These four tips will help you to create killer articles that sell your products or services even when you are not in front of your computer.

Article marketing is a very easy foolproof model to follow. There's so many article marketing models to follow online and many people's whole business model is transparent. Most people don't see this and remain blind to this. If you open your eyes and model someone (note, not copy someone! But model their business model), then you are suddenly in business!
Speaking of that, I do use a pseudo name for marketing articles in niche markets. Many other Internet marketers do that too. So if you don't want people to spy on your niche marketing, use a pseudo name.
Why do so many people write a few articles and then call it a day?
People see 5 views over 3 days and think their 30 minutes spent writing article was a complete waste of time.
The article goes on to get 100-200 views or even 1000+ views after a year or so. Multiply that by 100 articles, or even 1000 articles, and imagine the traffic.
Most people hate writing, would rather spend their money on 'quick fix' traffic rather than outsourcing, or just hate the thought of contributing to an article directory's content bank. The truth is, we rely on authority sites to get traffic! That's the way it works online.
If you hate writing (and that's the excuse I often hear), then outsource your articles! It's not difficult. You don't have to do everything yourself if you want to make it online. Find a good article writer at a good cost and get your army of articles out there.

You got to understand that Search Engines have changed their algorithms years ago. Building links is still as important but it is more important to build relevant links than just having thousands of rubbish links to your website. Even Google has voiced its unhappiness in paid inbound links and has started on their campaign to penalize paid links. One important thing is that getting too many inbound links over a night or a week can also be penalized by Google.
Why waste your dollars ?
I know it sounds tempting. 10000 links at only $10... But the real thing is whether these 10000 links are helping your website to rank better in search results or Page Rank. I can tell you that the answer would be a definite NO. So invest that $10 on some other more useful things or you can even choose to donate to the Orphanage. Be meaningful.
Getting Quality links NOT Quantity.
Getting 10 Quality Links is far better than getting 10000 rubbish links. Search engines value quality website that contains rich and helpful information and having such websites link to you, will be telling the search engines that you also deserved to be a quality website too.
Paid Links : The Grey Line
News of Google going down on paid links have been published all over the Web. Is it time for Google to step in and take control of the situation where by webmaster buys paid links to get high Page Rank and SERPs ranking? I am really unsure how Google is going to penalize paid links, but i have already started seeing decrease in my paid inbound links in Google's indexes. Time to build quality links...

In the existent market/business scenario, Internet marketing or web marketing has become the most important tool/s of trading your products or services effectively. Internet or web marketing involves differentiating your products and/or services in an organized manner so the users desirous of buying your product and/or services should come to know of you or your company with little effort.
Here the search engines are very important. The search engines have emerged as the most powerful and supportive tools in the hands of a webmaster to help users finding the actual search results with relevant context to the searched phrase or keyword used with respect to any online business goal, or website optimization.
The concept of search engines is as old as the 90s when it was conceived that it gives an option to search the web through a network of database for specific words or pages that match with certain criteria with the information desired. Later on it became regular practice to access information and do it easily. In fact, search engines help generate a different way to gather or reach for information on the net as well as help the searchers to explore other relevant and accurate sites on the net, meaning searcher can compare different sites for the product or service he is looking to zero in with one particular webmaster's site.
When used effectively and ethically, search engine optimization can play the role of a vital marketing tool in the hands of webmaster to fetch him decent returns on investment of his/her business. The following lines will update you of the SEO ethics you need to follow to derive maximum benefit out of SEO. These ethical search engine practices when followed diligently promise you of a commendable return you're your Internet business investments.
First off, invest time in making a good website with an original as well as unique content that has genuine value.
Invest time in identifying your niche because it helps your target searchers or users prospective but not the search engine.
Be realistic about the performing keywords and/or key phrases that your prospective users would be using and include them in the content of your web pages.
Include a site map of your website and it will help the visitors to take a peek into the desired web page rather than give a 4-second glance and jump off your site.
Give hyperlinks that will assist your website visitors to fetch the much needed information or relevant content when they wish so.
Ensure that the meta tags or the keywords and their description including the title are accurate and precise and most relevant to the web page content as well
Do not ignore the direct visitors of your website and add a dash of creativity to market and promote your site in general and products or services indirectly.
Never forget to include a fill-up-your-information box and gather the information of your visitors with a promise that you will not spam. It helps for additional marketing or promotion strategies by sending them newsletters if they are genuinely interested.
Do not use hidden text/links and/or sneaky re-direct links. This will amount to spamming which is unethical.
Last but never least, keep updating your website content on a regular basis.

It doesn't make any difference, as long as you're tracking it. You need to know where your traffic is coming from. Obviously, if you have two niches then you need to send the traffic that you write for one article to another niche, or to another another website.
If you two websites: one is natural health, and the other website is weight-gaining. So if you write an article on natural health, then you need to send that traffic to the natural-health website. If you're writing an article on muscle-building, then that needs to go to the muscle-building website. If you have one niche, for example, natural health, and you have ten pages in that natural-health website, for example, you have a page on vitamins. You have a page on natural food. You have a page on organic food, and you have a page on minerals.
So let's just say that you have four different pages: when you write articles on vitamins, you can send them to the vitamins page. When you write articles on natural health, you can go to the natural health page. When you write articles on organic foods, you can send them to the organic foods page. And you can take this one more step, Connie. You can have a different list for each one of these people.
The problem with having too many lists note --there's two sides to that coin. The more lists that you have, the more able you're going to be able to effectively target the people on your lists.
The answer is also that you would make more money per subscriber, if instead of getting emails in different types of things in one niche, but if instead you were to have a different autoresponder for each area of your niche.
But we have to be realistic. It's much easier to maintain one list. I look at it from a volume perspective: I'd like to get in more subscribers. I'm willing to make a little bit less on each one. If you're not getting in as many subscribers, you might be able to spend more time nichifying that.

Article marketing is my preferred method to drive traffic to my websites. Don't believe those saying that it's a slow method. They are just trying to sell you something else.
Article marketing works and is highly effective. If it wasn't the case, why hundreds (or thousands) of articles are submitted to directories every single day? Do you think that all these business owners lost their minds and do something that do not produce tremendous results for their businesses? I don't think so.
Seriously, if you are not writing and submitting articles to directories yet, you want to start doing it today. If it seems like something that you can't do, think again because it's not that complicated. Every single successful Internet marketer I know use article marketing as one of his main traffic generation method, and I advise you to follow them.
Article marketing will add thousands of dollars a year to your business and it is not something you want to leave on the table (or I should say on the Internet). All you need to do is start writing an article on your niche topic, and once you are done, start submitting it to the top 3 article directories.
1. ezinearticles.com
2. goarticles.com
3. articledasboard.com
It's a highly effective and relatively low cost method. It will take you your time or a couple of bucks.
When you write articles, you will be quickly recognized as an expert in your niche. In fact, you can become an expert on any topic. And believe me, the smaller the niche, the higher your chances to stand out. You will start receiving traffic from several sources at the same time, and you will increase your profits, number of subscribers and become famous in your market.
